The sponsorship of the Lions rugby team was MTN’s first venture into the rugby space. MTN saw the opportunity to revive the Lions team and its supporter base and were involved from 2011-2014. Turnkey branded all entrances, the family areas and the VIP parking at Ellis Park Stadium. We activated a half-time competition called “Bros vs Pros” whereby MTN clients could participate in an obstacle course of rugby match scenarios. Additionally we also activated “Drop-Kick for Data” competitions on the field during half time where one MTN-client was invited to kick 3 drop-goals from the 22m line for 10gb of data.
